Here is the car the day I got it. The paint was flaking off the drivers side ground effects and it had obviously been repainted in places.

Here is the drivers side with the cladding off.

And the passenger side.

I was very happy to see no rust damage under the cladding.

The only rust on the whole car was a few spots on the roof where the weatherstripping had rubbed through the paint.

The majority of the bodywork that was needed was just to fill and smooth scratches in the factory paint.

There were a few small dents to fix.

I used a nice acrylic urethane primer to prime the areas that need it.

The repaired dent on the fender.

And on the rear door.

The entire nose of the car got primed.

So did the trunk lid and rear bumper.

And any sections that got filled

All the cladding got filled and completely primed.

Along with every plastic part on the car.

I opted to swap out the black door handles and replace them with painted 94-95 style ones.

They got primed as well, along with the keypad bezel.

Midway through my project I acquired a slightly damaged Plus hood.

The damage was minimal and limited to a few cracks on the front corner.

It did not take much to fix it.

The clutch went south while I was priming so I went ahead and did my 3.2 conversion. While I had the engine out I painted the engine bay.

It was much easier to paint it with the drivetrain out of the way.

I don't think I could have gotten near as much painted with the engine in there.

I proceeded to paint the "hard parts" before I sprayed the body.

The door jams took more time to paint than the entire outside of the car.

You have to mask very carefully or you'll paint your interior.

If I had it to do over again I would probably just pull the interior and not try and mask everything. It would be much faster.

With the trim back on it does not look bad though.

While I was still painting smaller things I painted the intake.

And the valve covers.

Here it is after I sprayed the body. I still need to put the cladding back on.

And from behind.

The repaired Plus hood.

The 94-95 door handles and painted keypad bezel.

I repainted all the black trim and the black pats of the mirrors also.

And finally a nice sunny shot with all the cladding on.
